The Leftist Gold Standard
The old adage that the left would have no standards if it was not for the double standard was on full display over the weekend. You can see the effects of reaching a breaking point in our culture bore out right in front of us. No, it was not what we watched on television that was this year Grammy Awards show. The two instances of which made some news headlines was Sharon Osbourne’s defense of Piers Morgan. The other, was last week’s questioning of DOJ nominee Vanita Gupta by Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Ark.
The Leftist World View Hypothesis:
The United States is a country founded upon racism and it is racism that isenshrined across every institution in the country. Everyone is a racist whether they realize it or not and every single human interaction in infused with racism. Every single human interaction is either furthering white supremacy or advancing the cause of racial equity.
There are not only entire classes at colleges devoted to this hypothesis but entire wings at the halls of prestigious university’s filled with grad students to fill the coffers to fund their bloated salaries. There is no evidence to support these claims. There is very little data to support these claims. It’s a popular premise but a false one, one that is wreaking havoc on our public discourses.
Piers Morgan broadcaster from the UK said he does not believe what Meghan Markle said in an interview. That is fine everyone is entitled to their opinion. Wrong. Piers was run out of his news program after he refused to apologize for wait you guessed it being a racist.
Sharon Osbourne on her program she hosts ‘The Talk’ was forced to put the show on hiatus because she defended Piers Morgan. Her offense was defending someone who made a non-racist statement. When she pushed back against being herself being called a racist because she did not consider Piers a racist you could see the other co-host awkwardly try to explain why she is a racist for her stance.
Chris Harrison from the bachelor ran afoul of the police of the leftist world view and was ran out of his show he hosted for almost 20 years for saying something that was not racist. That is the beautiful thing with this hypothesis is even if you are not a racist, doing something racist, or saying something racist you are always a racist.
Sen. Cotton’s questioning of nominee Vanita Gupta who is a strong proponent of the leftist worldview brought to light the double standard. He asked what her own racist views were which of course she dodged the question. Then asked if she had racist views on republican nominees, she declined stating she did not support them based on merit.
This a trick Rep Alexandria Occasio-Cortez, D-NY and her friends on the squad are fond of playing. AOC says something and people disagree with her. AOC and supporters then accuse the disagreements coming from deeply held racism. By the way Barrack Obama did the same thing in an interview recently where he said the only reason why he could not pass reparations was because of the deep whiteness within the halls of congress.
When you have conflicting standards and principles that are ever changing and ever evolving this is what you get. A military more concerned with its image, the cancelation of harmless children’s books, and the glorification of simulated lesbian sex acts on primetime network television. The cracks in façade are rapidly appearing because what undergirds this movement is based upon dishonesty and outright lies.
