The Media Messed Itself. Yes, Again.
The Washington Post released a correction about false quotes attributed to Donald Trump as false. The correction stems from a call phone between former President Trump to a Georgia election official. The Washington Post reported that the former president quoted the president falsely of asking the official to find the fraud and that by doing so would make that person a national hero.
A few problems here with the main one being that Donald Trump never said that. Second, the fake quotes attributed to the former president were also included in impeachment charges against him. Worse, this once again provides further evidence of fake news spread by mainstream media in their blatant attempt to undermine Trump and his republican supporters.
Mistakes happen and newspapers publish corrections all the time. However, imagine if Fox News or the Wall Street Journal published a news story with made up quotes from an anonymous source that Joe Biden said? What would happen is the media would explode in outrage, there would be calls for congressional inquiries, and of course the calls for immediate cancellation of those outlets.
The Washington Post, New York Times, and CNN have made it their personal missions to eradicate the republican party. They are firm believers in Marcuse’s ‘Repressive Tolerance’ in which he describes the elimination of conservative thoughts, opinions, and beliefs through not giving them any platform at all. This is not new as this Frankfurt school garbage has been a staple of left-wing activists going back the 60’s.
Journalists do have a code of ethics guided values such as honesty, objectivity, fairness, diligence, and accountability. One of the first arguments you hear is that is all good but Fox News and conservative talk show hosts spread lies and are partisan hacks. Fine, now do the left-wing outfits.
In the age of “your truth” not “the truth” the watering down of values such as honesty take a backseat because you should not question someone’s motives. Probably the biggest lie the media consistently told themselves overtly during the Trump presidency was Trump was a Hitler wannabe. This makes engaging in unethical behavior such as lying or misrepresenting the truth ok because well you are stopping Trump.
When radical left thinkers and philosophers decided all conservative thoughts and ideas were evil then the seeds were sowed for this. Trump represented American pride (nationalism), border control (xenophobia), regulation cuts (anti-environment/science), strong military (authoritarianism), and defense of police (racist). If you agree with any of Trump’s positions on any of the afore mentioned items than you support fascism.
Imagine you are a director or mid-level manager at the Times, and you believed Trump was constantly trying to drive forth a fascist, racist, and nationalist agenda in order to wreak havoc on the environment to enrich himself personally then you might disregard some journalism ethics. What does it matter if you attribute a false quote to the President of the US if that hurts him and helps the democrats to impeach him then, they are saving our country! Surely, from your freshman ethics class you would take the time machine back to kill baby Hitler to save millions of lives, right? What is so wrong with then with using a few keystrokes to falsely attribute quotes from orange Hitler?
As long as Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, and Nancy Pelosi are around they will continue to propagate this nonsense. The left is beyond broken as this point; they are sick. You can see it in their actions they are clearly drunk with power. Calls to end the Senate filibuster, add new states, and pack the supreme court expose this. I only hope Americans will see what is going on here and send them a message in 2022 with a blowout win for the Republicans in the mid-terms.
